Kroger Co. Foundation supports Loon Lake Food Bank
$5,000 received from Kroger Foundation (Fred Meyer)
Loon Lake— 12/28/17 — On December 7, 2017 the Loon Lake Food Bank received $5000 from the Kroger Co. Foundation (in partnership with Fred Meyer operating division of the Kroger Family of Stores) to support ending hunger in the local community.
“What a wonderful gift at this time of year!” said Leona Adams, Director. Many of the Loon Lake Food Bank clients have already benefited from the food boxes provided by this gift. A patron recently commented “Kudos to all the helpers & staff for the smooth handling of the giving out of the Christmas boxes this year! I came dressed to wait in a big long line, in the frigid temperatures we had this morning, but instead, no lines! Got right in! Good Job EVERYONE!” shared Leona Adams.
Founded in 1980, in the trunk of a car, the Loon Lake Food Bank & Resource Center has grown from a humble beginning to a large warehouse, and is now serving an average of 1600 families per month.
